Chewing gum burns fat!
Wait! Before you check your purse, pockets, or run to the store, here’s something to chew on:
People have been chewing gum for over 5,000 years (not the same pieces).
Aztecs and Mayans chewed gum.
Chiclets has been around since 1869!
Gum is not sold at Disneyland parks.
And gum is banned in Singapore. (Duh.)
Personally, I don’t chew it because my pansa (belly) gets so excited about food coming down, that it retaliates with a stomachache when the grub doesn’t arrive.
Cows, on the other hand, enjoy chewing. Not gum, but their own cud. (Trust me, you don’t want to know.)
What you see pictured is a wall filled with old chewed gum. I know. GROSS! (Interested in sticking one on the wall? The next time you’re in San Luis Obispo, California, visit Bubblegum Alley.)
Because of you chewers, gum is a $9 billion industry. But no one wants to see it or step in it, so in the spirit of good manners and clean soles, please dispose of it properly.
